Altia Systems Confirms ExtremeUSB® 3.0 Interoperability with PanaCast® 2 Panoramic-4K Camera Extension at InfoComm 2017

World’s First Panoramic-4K Plug-and-Play USB camera Extended via Icron’s ExtremeUSB® solutions at Booth #3770 at Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida

Burnaby, British Columbia – June 7, 2017 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and Altia Systems®, recipient of the 2016 Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award and CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree, today confirmed joint product interoperability between the PanaCast® 2 panoramic video camera and Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra™ series with ExtremeUSB® extension technology. A joint solution demonstration will be on display by Altia Systems at the InfoComm 2017 show in Orlando, Florida, June 14-16.

With its on-board PanaCast video processor, PanaCast 2 delivers Panoramic-4K video across a 180° wide by 54° tall field of view at 3840 x 1080 pixels per frame. Altia Systems also launched Intelligent Zoom for PanaCast 2 earlier this year which automatically and dynamically adjusts the camera’s 180° field of view to include all participants in the room.

Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra extenders provide the ideal solution for all USB 3.0 applications including huddle rooms and training centers. For short-range operation, the USB 3.0 Spectra™ 3001-15 is a bus powered copper cable that extends USB 3.0 at 15 meters while providing full 5V, 900mA of current. If longer distance extension is required, the USB 3.0 Spectra™ 3022 extender system has the capability to extend up to 100 meters over multimode OM3 fiber optic cabling. Both extenders support throughputs of 5 Gbps and feature locking connectors. The extenders come with a two-year warranty and include the ExtremeUSB suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers) and compatibility with all major operating systems: Windows®, macOS™ and Linux®.

“Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra series with ExtremeUSB extension is confirmed as a recommended solution for PanaCast 2,” said Javed Tufail, Director of Sales and Business Development at Altia Systems. “This solution allows PanaCast customers to easily install and deploy PanaCast in situations where longer cables are required.”

“The PanaCast 2 panoramic USB camera with 4K resolution is an impressive solution for collaborative rooms of any size,” said Glenn Antonelli, Vice President of Marketing at Icron. “USB 3.0 has a cable distance limitation of approximately three meters, which can cause installation headaches and restrict applications. With Icron’s ExtremeUSB extension, the feature-rich PanaCast 2 cameras can be incorporated into almost any conference room environment.”

A live demonstration of the PanaCast 2 camera extended via Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra extenders will be on display at Altia Systems’ InfoComm booth #3770 from June 14-16 at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando.
