Icron has recently expanded the applications of ExtremeUSB
with the release of the WiRanger Cable Free USB 2.0 hub; the
world's first wireless USB hub using 802.11g technology. The
WiRanger is the latest addition to a rich portfolio of USB
1.1 and USB 2.0 extension solutions designed to meet the demanding
and varied applications enabled with USB.
In addition to WiRanger and continuing ExtremeUSB platform
developments, Icron has technology to enable USB to be used
in harsh environments where EMI and ESD problems are prevalent.
Icron will continue to develop solutions to problems that
would limit the deployment of USB technology.
Licensing Programs
Icron has protected its innovations, building a portfolio
of patents covering key techniques critical to the design
of extending USB connections over a variety of media, including
UTP, fibre and wireless. Icron is focused on licensing its
intellectual property assets, particularly its ExtremeUSB
technology, for the inclusion of its technology into a variety
of customer applications.
Icron has signed numerous licensing agreements with companies
wanting to utilize their patented technology and continues
to pursue new agreements. As a result, Icron sees its Patent
Licensing Program as a long-term source of revenue and growth.
