BURNABY, B.C., August 4, 2004 – Icron Technologies Corporation (TSX Venture: IT), a provider of long-range USB and DVI extension technologies announced today the first of its family of Hi-Speed USB 2.0 extenders – the USB Ranger 130 and USB Ranger 140. Through the use of its patented and compliant ExtremeUSB® technology, Icron is able to extend USB devices well beyond the normal limit of 5 meters using copper or fiber-optic media.
The new USB 2.0 Ranger 130/140 extenders represent a significant milestone in the USB market, supporting USB 2.0 peripheral devices at speeds up to 480 Mb/s over a distance of 50 meters (165 ft.).
