IHSE GmbH was founded 1984 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Their
products are used in factory automation and technical computing
applications. The core product lines are visualization systems
(man-machine interfaces) based on Windows, total solutions
for PLC-systems and solutions to enable computers to extend
their connections for CRT, keyboard, mouse and printer (KVM
extender). These systems are based on copper (coax or twisted
pairs) or on fiber optic cables.
Advanced Simulation Technology uses ExtremeUSB
to Increase Cable Length to 300 Feet for Flight Simulator
Application
Founded in 1989, Advanced Simulation Technology inc. (ASTi)
is the leading supplier of COTS audio, radio & communications
simulation and digital network communication equipment to
government, military and commercial organizations worldwide.
ASTi's latest-generation Telestra hardware employs USB for
local and remote audio and communications routing. While standard
USB cable connections are limited to 4.57 m/15 ft, ASTi's
paired Prism and Spectrum extender devices use Icron's ExtremeUSB
technology to increase cable run length to 91m / 300ft. This
provides ASTi customers the flexibility to position our audio
interface devices wherever they're needed.
Adder Technology uses ExtremeUSB in
its X Series X-USB KVM Extender
Adder Technology of Cambridge, UK, is a leading European developer
of KVM switching and extender technology. The company's products
reduce the complexity, vulnerability and cost of IT environments
by providing robust access to and direct control of local
computing systems. Adder has embedded Icron’s ExtremeUSB®
technology into their X-USB KVM extender which is targeted
at banks, data centres and other high-density environments
where optimization of rack space is essential.
Nihon Kohden America uses ExtremeUSB in its EEG Medical Devices
An EMI-enhanced (grounding modified) version of the USB Ranger®
110 was developed to facilitate the recording of brain currents
by connecting patients to an EEG (Electroencephalograph) medical
device. Using ExtremeUSB® technology, medical equipment
such as the EEG can be used in electrically noisy I.C.U's
or O.R's.
Otologics LLC uses IsolatedUSB for its equipment
Otologics LLC is a medical device company dedicated
to developing advanced amplification products designed to
enhance communication and improve the quality of life for
individuals with hearing loss. Icron provided an IsolatedUSB
Design License specification that was used to electrically
isolate patients from diagnostic equipment.
Count-Me In LLC uses ExtendUSB in its Digital Persona Sensors
Count-Me In LLC is using Icron’s Rover™
2650s in a biometric authentication application using Digital
Personal sensors. It is typically used to restrict building
access to individuals whose fingerprints are stored in the
system’s database. The system is used in places such
as gyms, apartment complexes and day care facilities.
Sinclair Broadcast Group uses ExtremeUSB for its USB License Dongles
The Sinclair Broadcast Group extend USB license dongles
(valued in the thousands of dollars) into a secured area using
Ranger 110.
NextGenID uses ExtremeUSB for its Access Control Systems
NextGenID is a Biometric Access Control Systems provider
that utilizes ExtremeUSB technology to secure buildings and
restricted out-door areas. Using Turnkey LEX and Core REX
modules, fingerprint and iris access control systems can be
deployed at remote locations throughout a premise, while centralizing
control at a single host computer. Using an infrared array
to count the number of people going through a door, the system
can filter out unauthorized “tailgaters”.
Netbotz uses ExtremeUSB in its Evironmental Monitoring System
By private labeling the USB Ranger 110i/410i and
USB fiber product, the Ranger 422i as “Extender Pods”,
Netbotz has used Icron technology as a key piece of its cutting-edge
environmental monitoring system. These highly sensitive systems
are becoming “must-have” in the IT environment,
where protection of critical assets from such things as water
leaks and extreme heat is of paramount importance.
Magenta Research uses ExtremeUSB for its Signage
Magenta Research is currently extending USB in the
dynamic signage market, private-labeling the USB Ranger 110/410
packaged products.
Prizm Advanced Communication Electronics uses ExtremeUSB
for its Under-water Applications
Icron’s ExtremeUSB technology is used in several
mission critical under-water applications. Prizm Advanced
Communication Electronics has developed a custom “Ultimate
USB” solution for controlling webcams in oil-rig inspection
submarines using Icron’s Core DL product. Their device
effectively extends the range of USB 1.1 to 10km / 6.2 miles.
Progeny Systems, a supplier of engineering services to Lockheed
Martin, have used ExtremeUSB extension technology on U.S.
Navy submarines as part of a USB I/O touch screen application.
