Icron Systems Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement
with Omnimedia, Inc. to represent its USB Ranger family of
products to the professional audio visual market in the south-eastern
U.S. and the Caribbean.
Omnimedia, based in Atlanta Georgia, is a value-added manufacturer's
representative organization, focused entirely on the Pro A/V
market. Omnimedia operates in seven states and the Caribbean
and has offices in Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC and Cape Coral
FL.
David Smith, Icron's Vice President Sales & Marketing stated,
"We are delighted to add Omnimedia to our growing distribution
network in the professional audio visual market. We are
confident that Omnimedia's expertise and reputation in the
south-eastern U.S. and Caribbean markets will be of great
benefit to Icron Systems Inc. and the users of our ExtremeUSBTM
technology".
Omnimedia's President Conrad Boje added, "We're very
excited to add Icron's USB Ranger family of products to our
portfolio. Omnimedia has long been known for providing exciting
new technologies and products to our customers. Icron's ExtremeUSB
technology provides a strong value proposition to the professional
audio visual market".
This agreement with Omnimedia further expands Icron's reach
into the Pro A/V market. More importantly, it validates the
importance of USB extension technology in this key market
segment. USB Ranger products, with ExtremeUSB technology,
have also gained acceptance in the keyboard, video and mouse
extension market, entertainment market, broadcast market and
the industrial control and factory automation markets.
Icron Systems Inc. of Vancouver, BC has invented ExtremeUSB
technology, a practical means of extending the range of USB
connections from 15 feet (5 meters) to over 300 feet (100
meters). Icron has applied for patents covering its inventions
and is integrating its technology into a series of products
for computing applications. Icron's Ranger products are the
only USB extenders that are "compliant" with the
USB Implementers Forum's requirements. Icron is committed
to working with its partners to increase the total market
for USB products by enabling a broad set of new applications
that utilize ExtremeUSB. Icron is a publicly traded company
and trades under the symbol ICM on the Canadian Venture Exchange.
