B.C. - Further to the press release dated February 19th, 2001,
Icron Systems Inc. (CDNX: ICM) would like to clarify the status
of Icron's intellectual property (IP) and technology.
Icron continues to own 100% of its IP and technology. Icron has engaged
a consulting engineering firm to hold the know-how relating to Icron's
IP and technology on behalf of Icron. The consulting engineering firm
will be restricted from using this know-how in any way other than to
support Icron customers and projects.
The consulting engineering firm will transfer the know-how back to Icron
upon its request. The consulting engineering firm that has been chosen
is a reputable firm at arms length and that does not compete with the
company in any way.
As a result of this arrangement, Icron's IP and technology are protected
in a financially responsible manner. Icron will continue selling products
to current and new customers.
Icron Systems Inc. of Burnaby, B.C. has invented ExtremeUSB™ technology,
a practical means of extending the range of USB 1.1 connections from
5 meters to over 100 meters. Icron has applied for patents covering its
inventions and is integrating its technology into a series of products
for computing applications. Icron is committed to working with its partners
to increase the total market for USB products by enabling a broad set
of new applications that utilize ExtremeUSB. Icron is a publicly traded
