LEX/REX 422 Turnkey

Icron's LEX/REX 422 Turnkey products enable USB devices to be remoted over fiber optic cable to a range of 500 m/1640 ft. The boards provide a complete solution that requires the addition of only external power and cabling for turnkey operation.

The design utilizes the new MT-RJ fiber connectors that are rapidly replacing the older SC- and ST-style connectors in fiber-based common equipment. These connectors offer higher density, lower cost and faster termination times than previous alternatives.

In a typical configuration the LEX unit is placed close to a PC and connected to its host controller through a standard USB cable. The REX unit is placed close to the USB device (or devices) and connected through a standard USB cable. The LEX and REX units are interconnected with 2-strand fiber cable up to 500 m/1640 ft in length. Both LEX and REX must be powered by an external DC power source between 8 - 15V.
