USB 2.0 Ranger 442 / 444
The
USB 2.0 Ranger® 442/444 extenders represent a significant
milestone in the USB market. Powered by patented ExtremeUSB
technology, the Ranger 442 and 444 extend USB 2.0 peripheral
devices up to 10km over fiber optics at up to 480 Mb/s.
The USB 2.0 Ranger 442 is a four port, Class A device which
extends host computer and peripheral connections up to 500m/1640ft
over multimode optical fiber.
The USB 2.0 Ranger 444 is a four port, Class A device which
extends host computer and peripheral connections up to 10km
over singlemode optical fiber.
USB Ranger products are composed of two separate units:
the Local Extender (LEX) and the Remote Extender (REX). Conventional
USB cables are used to connect the LEX unit to the host computer
and to connect one or more remote USB devices to the REX
unit. The USB 2.0 Ranger 442 and 444 extenders require power
at both the LEX and REX units.
