Icron Technologies Completes RoHS Compliance

Directive ensures safety of people and protection of environment

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted a directive on electrical and electronic equipment, known as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). The RoHS Directive came into effect July 1st, 2006 and restricts placement on the EU market of electrical and electronic equipment containing lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, and PBDE.

“Compliance with the RoHS Directive ensures Icron products are safe, eco-friendly and available for sale to the global market.” said Robert Eisses, President and CEO of Icron. “The company is committed to adhering to all standards, regulatory requirements and certifications to ensure our product line is of the best quality to maintain our leadership and growth in the expanding USB market.”

Icron Technologies’ RoHS compliant products are form, fit and function equivalent to the non-RoHS-compliant versions. The RoHS compliant products provide the same level of quality, compatibility and reliability customers have come to expect from Icron.
