Full line of USB and KVM extenders on display by Rose including live demonstration of USB 3-2-1 over copper and fiber at NAB booth SL11021

Burnaby, British Columbia – April 9, 2018 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and Rose Electronics, a pioneer in developing KVM switch technology, will be displaying a full range of USB and KVM extension solutions with Icron’s patented ExtremeUSB® and ExtremeUSB-C™ technologies at the NAB Show exhibition taking place April 9-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada.

Rose’s feature display will be their new CrystalLink USB 3.1 Fiber and CrystalLink USB 3.1 CATx extenders for simultaneous USB 3.1, 2.0 and 1.1 extension. The fiber model extends USB 3-2-1 devices up to 200m over OM3 fiber while the CATx model extends up to 100m using CAT 6a/7 cable. Both extenders include the ExtremeUSB-C suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers required) and compatibility with all major operating systems: Windows®, macOS™, Linux®, and Chrome OS™.

“Every year we attend the NAB show, there is increased interest in USB 3.1 equipment as broadcasting applications continue to consume higher bandwidths,” said David Rahvar, General Partner at Rose. “Our CrystalLink USB 3.1 extenders allow media professionals to take advantage of the simplicity and performance that USB 3.1 offers at extended distances over fiber or copper cabling.”

“USB 3.1’s throughput rate of 5 Gbps is well equipped for handling sizeable content file transfers,” said Glenn Antonelli, Director of Business Management at Icron. “By taking advantage of ExtremeUSB-C technology, Rose’s CrystalLink USB 3.1 extenders will support USB 3.1 plus USB 2.0/1.1 backward compatibility providing media professionals with access to all the tools they need over extended distances.”

Show attendees are encouraged to visit Rose’s NAB booth SL11021 to see the CrystalLink USB 3.1 extenders in action from April 9-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
