(Partnering Companies To Demonstrate Revolutionary USB Connectivity Distance At Comdex)

Las Vegas (November 15, 1999) –ADS Technologies, a leading manufacturer of external bus technologies, today announced that is has signed a strategic alliance with Icron Systems to deliver solutions that extend the limited range of Universal Serial Bus (USB) from 15 feet to 330 feet. Both companies are demonstrating Icron’s ExtremeUSB range extending technology by connecting a USB webcam from the ADS Technologies USB booth (USB 53) to a PC at the Icron Systems booth (USB 20) some 100 feet away, surpassing the USB specification that limits the length of cable between devices to 15 feet or less.

Icron Systems, Inc., a public traded company on the Alberta Stock Exchange (ASE:ICM), invented ExtremeUSB, a practical means of extending the range of USB connections and has applied for patents to cover the revolutionary technology. Icron Systems Inc. recently announced the formation of ExtremeUSB Team, an industry-wide alliance formed specifically to further the development and marketing of the ExtremeUSB technology. ADS Technologies is a founding member of ExtremeUSB Team alliance.

“Both ADS and Icron are committed to delivering high-quality USB solutions so it was a natural partnership,” remarked ADS Technologies President Mike McCoy. “By extending the range of USB, its ease and convenience can be utilized for more applications in both the home and office, adding even more value to our line of USB connectivity products.”

“This alliance enables Icron to introduce ExtremeUSB into the computer marketplace behind the trusted and respected name of ADS Technologies,” remarked David Dunnison. “We look forward to a long and healthy relationship with ADS.”
