Icron Systems Inc. announced today its first German distribution agreement for USB Ranger(TM) products with professional broadcast and computer hardware distributor SDI.

SDI, based in Munich Germany, is a systems integration solutions company serving the German broadcasting and media markets for the past twelve years. SDI designs, sources and installs advanced audio and visual computing systems for large broadcast companies in Germany and throughout Europe.

David Smith, Icron’s Vice President Sales & Marketing stated, “We have been experiencing an impressive level of demand for the USB Ranger product line from around the world. This agreement with SDI gives Icron an immediate distribution partner in the largest market in Europe. We are confident that SDI’s expertise in the professional broadcast market will benefit Icron Systems Inc. and our ExtremeUSB powered products.”

SDI spokesperson Florian Goebel stated, “We are excited about the opportunity to offer the USB Ranger family of products to our professional broadcast customers in the German market. Our customers have immediate requirements to extend USB devices beyond 15 feet. ExtremeUSB provides an innovative, cost effective solution for this critical application.”

Icron’s horizontal market strategy for its enabling technology continues to gain momentum with this extension into the German professional broadcast market. USB Ranger products with ExtremeUSB technology have already gained acceptance in the KVM (keyboard, video, and mouse) market, entertainment (home audio) market and the professional audio video market.

Icron Systems Inc. of Vancouver, BC has invented ExtremeUSB technology, a practical means of extending the range of USB connections from 15 feet (5 meters) to over 300 feet (100 meters). Icron has applied for patents covering its inventions and is integrating its technology into a series of products for computing applications. Icron’s Ranger products are the only USB extenders that are “compliant” with the USB Implementers Forum’s requirements. Icron is committed to working with its partners to increase the total market for USB products by enabling a broad set of new applications that utilize ExtremeUSB. Icron is a publicly traded company and trades under the symbol ICM on the Canadian Venture Exchange.
