Syscomtec Distribution AG Demonstrates ExtremeUSB® 3.0 Extension Technology at ISE 2016

Burnaby, British Columbia – January 21, 2016 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, announced today that syscomtec Distribution AG, specialists in visualization technologies, signal management and control in the field of professional audio-visual media, will be featuring a live demo of Icron’s USB 3.0 Spectra™ 3022 extender system at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) Show 2016 from February 9th through 12th at Amsterdam RAI in the Netherlands.

With a high bandwidth of 5 Gbps coupled with plug and play simplicity, USB 3.0 is quite viable for ProAV applications such as file transfers and video conferencing. To demonstrate such capabilities, syscomtec will have on display a high quality USB 3.0 camera from XIMEA extended 100 meters using a multi-mode fiber extender, the Spectra 3022.

“Increasingly, we are receiving requests from ProAV installers looking for dependable solutions to extend USB 3.0 peripherals,” said Claus Lohse, Member of Board at syscomtec. “Icron’s Spectra 3022 allows for high bandwidth USB 3.0 applications to extend reliably up to 100 meters.”

“Installers used to shy away from USB 3.0 peripherals when cables lengths needed to be greater than a few meters,” said Glenn Antonelli, Vice President of Marketing at Icron. “With the short distance limitation effectively removed, ProAV applications can take advantage of all the USB 3.0 peripheral benefits, at full performance, up to 100 meter distances.”

The USB 3.0 Spectra 3022, available from syscomtec, provides two locking USB 3.0 ports each delivering 900mA of power to ensure flawless peripheral operation and includes the ExtremeUSB® suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers required) and compatibility with all major operating systems: Windows®, OS X® and Linux®.

A live demonstration of the Spectra 3022 extender system is available at syscomtec’s booth, 8-F180, from February 9th to 12th during the ISE show in Amsterdam.
