Icron Technologies and JAI Validate USB 3.0 Product Interoperability

Icron’s ExtremeUSB® technology extends JAI’s new USB 3.0 Go Series camera at the VISION Show from November 4-6 at Messe Stuttgart, Germany

Burnaby, British Columbia –November 5, 2014 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and JAI, a provider of innovative digital CCD/CMOS camera technology, confirmed today joint product interoperability between JAI’s USB 3.0 version of the brand new Go Series and Icron’s USB 3.0 extension series: 15-meter Spectra 3001-15 active extension cable and the 100-meter Spectra 3022 fiber based extender system.

JAI’s Go Series delivers an exceptional blend of small size, high versatility and excellent performance, all at an entry-level price, making it the perfect starting point for a wide range of machine vision applications. The first Go Series family: the GO-5000, packs a high performance 5-megapixel CMOS imager into a compact form factor that weighs only 46 grams. Using a combination of ROI and binning capabilities, this tiny camera supports a wide range of configurations – from a superfast VGA camera (at nearly 450 fps) to a super sensitive camera using binning to create 10-micron, or even-20-micron effective pixel sizes.

Icron’s Spectra series of extenders provide the ideal extension solution for all USB 3.0 applications. For short range operation, the Spectra 3001-15 is a bus powered copper cable that extends USB 3.0 at 15 meters while providing a full 5V, 900mA of current. If longer extension is required, Icron’s Spectra 3022 extender system has the capability to extend up to 100 meters and beyond over multimode OM3 fiber optic cabling. Both extenders support throughputs of 5Gbps and feature locking connectors per the AIA USB3 Vision™ specification. Additionally, the extenders come with a two-year warranty and include the ExtremeUSB® suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers), and compatibility with all major operating systems including Windows® 8.

A demonstration of JAI’s GO-5000 USB 3.0 camera and Icron’s Spectra extender cable will be featured at the VISION show at Messe Stuttgart, Germany in the JAI booth (Hall 1, Stand F52) from November 4th to 6th.
