Icron Technologies Showcasing Three Innovations at InfoComm13

USB 3.0 Active Cable, USB 3-2-1 Over Fiber, and SwitchableUSB™ integrated with OEM Video Matrix Switch on display in action from June 12-14th, in Orlando, FL

Burnaby, British Columbia – June 11, 2013 Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, will be demonstrating three new ExtremeUSB® extension solutions at InfoComm13, beginning tomorrow through to Friday, June 14th:

  • USB 3.0 Spectra™ 3001-15: the world’s first 15 meter USB 3.0 active extension cable designed to work with AIA USB3 Vision™ devices. A true machine vision market breakthrough, this cable delivers reliable extension of USB 3.0 devices including high resolution vision cameras.
  • USB 3.0 SP3123: the world’s only USB 3.0 over fiber extender that is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. This extender has three locking USB ports, any of which can support USB 3.0, 2.0, or 1.1 devices, in combination or at the same time, and will also work with USB3 Vision™ devices. USB extension is provided up to 100 meters over OM3 multimode fiber optic cabling.
  • USB 2.0 RG2304GE-LAN with SwitchableUSB™: extends all USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices at up to 480Mbps over a Gigabit Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN). ProAV leader, Crestron Electronics, will be demonstrating their DigitalMedia™ matrix switcher in operation with the 2304GE-LAN using Icron’s patented SwitchableUSB™ technology to provide fast and reliable USB switching in conjunction with video signals.

“USB 3.0 is quickly growing in both the ProAV and machine vision markets, while video matrix providers looking to switch video signals along with USB 2.0 devices will benefit from using our patented SwitchableUSB technology,” said Robert Haefling, Icron’s President and CEO. “Both industrial and consumer markets are looking for reliable and robust operation over a variety of distances, and our ExtremeUSB technology delivers it.”

All three new extender systems include Icron’s ExtremeUSB suite of features such as plug and play functionality (no software drivers) and compatibility with all major operating systems including Microsoft Windows 8.
