Vancouver, British Columbia, September 17, 2003 – Icron Technologies Corporation (TSX.V:IT) today announced that a major US-based broadcaster has taken delivery of its USB Ranger products.
The customer, who is not being named for competitive reasons, is one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the US market. The company owns and operates or provides services to more than 60 stations in major markets.
“This year, Icron and its partner companies have supplied solutions based on our ExtremeUSB technology to some of the highest profile broadcast and media post-production companies in the US,” said Suresh Singh, Icron’s President and CEO. “Icron is achieving this success in a market that demands technology that performs flawlessly in front of huge audiences,” he continued.
Icron and its partners’ products are typically being used in ‘Remote Computing’ applications in this industry. In these environments, interface devices such as video monitors, keyboards, mice and access control terminals are located at a distance from host computers, servers or editing suites. Extended distance USB connections that rely on Icron’s ExtremeUSB technology form the vital link between the peripheral devices and the remotely located computers.
