Press Release Icron ExtremeUSB® Technology Well Represented at InfoComm 2009 with Over Twenty Partners across Industrial Automation and Enterprise Markets

BURNABY, B.C., July 7, 2009 – Icron Technologies (TSX Venture: IT), the leading provider of USB extension solutions, announces that over twenty companies at InfoComm 2009, the largest, most comprehensive event in the Pro-AV industry, have Icron’s patented ExtremeUSB® technology embedded in their products. Over the past year, Icron’s steady increase in business partnerships has been attributed to its unique patented USB extension technology that maintains the USB protocol in its native format, and extends it over Cat 5e, Fiber, and Wireless transmission technologies at distances up to 25 miles (40km).

“It was encouraging to see Icron’s ExtremeUSB technology featured in so many of the OEM products at the recent InfoComm event,” said Brian Donnelly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Icron. “We have been focussed on growing our OEM channel by selling Icron’s embedded USB Extension technology to many OEMs across a broad range of markets from enterprise to industrial automation to medical imaging to digital signage to KVM Extension.”

Icron’s ExtremeUSB technology is used by a growing number of international OEMs such as IHSE GmbH, Gefen, SMART Technologies, InFocus, Rose Electronics, Hall Research, Meridian Technologies, Opticis, Magenta Research, SmartAVI, Broadata, MultiDyne, Opticomm/Emcore and Adder, to name a few. Icron’s ExtremeUSB technology gives OEMs the ability to embed long distance USB extension technology into their products allowing for added flexibility of their design configurations, letting a peripheral device be located remotely from the PC.

“We are using Icron’s USB Extension technology inside our KVM Extenders to allow us to reach distances up to 140 meters over Cat 5e and several kilometers over fiber so that our global customer base can use their USB peripheral devices on factory floors and other industrial settings to improve processes and productivity,” said Dr. Enno Littmann, Chief Operating Officer for IHSE GmbH. “The KVM marketplace is highly competitive, and with the help of Icron’s USB extension technology, our Draco™ major matrix switch offers transparent switching of video, USB 2.0 and further data signals in one device,” added Littmann.

Icron’s USB extension technology is available as packaged products, OEM modules, and private-labelled products and is the only true native USB 2.0 extension technology available in the market.
