Grasshopper®3 and Flea®3 machine vision cameras successfully extended with ExtremeUSB® based USB 3.0 15-meter active extension cable
Burnaby, British Columbia – March 26, 2014 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and Point Grey, a world-leading designer and manufacturer of innovative, high-performance digital cameras, today announced joint product interoperability between Point Grey’s USB 3.0 machine vision camera portfolio and Icron’s USB 3.0 SpectraTM 3001-15 active extension cable with ExtremeUSB® technology.

The Spectra 3001-15 extends USB 3.0 at 5Gbps and features locking connectors per AIA USB3 Vision™ specification. The active cable provides a full 5V, 900mA of current, features a locking connector and an LED indicator at the device connection point. Additionally, the extender comes with a two-year warranty and includes the ExtremeUSB suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers) and compatibility with all major operating systems including Windows® 8.
