USB 2.0 RG2304-LAN featuring ExtremeUSB® extends USB 2.0 over Local Area Networks (LAN) without speed limitation
Burnaby, British Columbia – March 27, 2013 Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, today announced its new USB over network extender, the USB 2.0 RG2304-LAN. Optimized for video matrix switches, classroom configurations and command and control or KVM network extension, the RG2304-LAN leverages existing network infrastructure over Cat 5e to extend USB 2.0 over a LAN.
Featuring Icron’s ExtremeUSB® suite of features, the RG2304-LAN works with all operating systems and does not require software drivers; enabling plug and play installation for Windows®, Mac OS X® and Linux®. The RG2304-LAN supports extension of USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 compliant devices across a LAN at up to 480Mbps and includes Icron’s SwitchableUSB™, which enables applications or systems to manage the host and peripheral connections.
“We are very pleased to introduce the first product of Icron’s new, USB over Network extender product family, the RG2304-LAN. The RG2304-LAN is an ideal solution for industrial and commercial applications wanting to utilize existing network infrastructure to extend USB 2.0 at high speed, up to 480Mbps”, stated Robert Haefling, Icron Technologies President and CEO. “Another unique feature is SwitchableUSB™, which enables the host and peripheral pairings to be controlled by another system, such as a video matrix switch. This affords the flexibility of turning a video matrix switch into a KVM network switch”.
The RG2304-LAN is now available for private label and OEM opportunities.
