BURNABY, B.C. – Icron Technologies Corporation (CDNX: IT), a leading provider of extended range high-performance connectivity technologies for the computer marketplace, announced that it will supply a new product for use by Eastman Kodak’s Themed Entertainment Unit worldwide.
Icron plans to formally launch its USB Ranger/FiberOptic to world markets in the next quarter. Kodak has committed to receive units of the new system. As well, other customers in several markets are expressing interest in this innovative solution to provide USB connectivity over extremely long-distances.
Kodak Themed Entertainment, a unit of Eastman Kodak Company’s Professional Imaging Division, provides retail imaging solutions and operations to theme parks and vacation destinations around the world. Kodak works with its clients to create and build their imaging businesses with quality image souvenirs that are produced by Kodak’s advanced digital operating system platform and support. Over 10 million consumers and guests are captured each year with Kodak’s superior image quality.
Icron is completing design of a fiber-optic based version of its USB Ranger¹ product that will allow digital cameras to be placed at optimal locations within Kodak’s client sites. The new fiber-optic driven versions of Icron’s USB Ranger¹ systems will be used to connect cameras over long distances within major theme parks and other venues. High-resolution Kodak digital cameras will capture sharp and clear images of guests. Using Kodak’s patented color management to control image from capture to print, the guests will receive a high-quality record of their visit.
