Burnaby, British Columbia – April 14, 2016 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, announced today that IHSE, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced KVM systems, will feature a live demo of their high speed Draco tera matrix switcher system with integrated ExtremeUSB® 2.0 and 3.0 extension technology from Icron at the 2016 NAB Show from April 18th through 21st at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The IHSE Draco tera KVM matrix switch features expanded bandwidth to enable real-time switching of high definition video up to 4Kp60, audio, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 signals. High speed switch versions are available in a variety of sizes including an industry-leading 576 I/O ports, which can be configured for CAT 5e/6/7, multi-mode fiber and single-mode fiber in any combination for maximum flexibility.

USB 3.0 extension capability is now available from IHSE as a standard integrated offering of the Draco tera matrix switch range and includes the ExtremeUSB suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers required) and compatibility with all major operating systems: Windows®, OS X® and Linux®.

“Broadcast applications transfer and switch very large files over extended distances,” said Dan Holland, IHSE USA’s Marketing Manager. “By integrating ExtremeUSB 3.0 into our Draco matrix switcher, our customers will continue to use USB 2.0 as they always have, but now enjoy faster USB 3.0 throughputs when required without having to obtain a separate USB 3.0 extension accessory.”

“With 4K content adoption on the rise, media professionals will want to take advantage of USB 3.0’s blazing fast 5 Gbps bandwidth,” said Glenn Antonelli, Vice President of Marketing at Icron. “The integration of both ExtremeUSB 2.0 and 3.0 extension technology into the Draco tera switch ensures that users can transfer and switch video and USB signals seamlessly with unrivaled flexibility up to 100 meters and beyond, over fiber optic cabling.”

A demonstration of IHSE Draco tera matrix switch with integrated USB 2.0 and 3.0 extension capabilities will be featured in booth SL-13916 from April 18th through 21st during the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
